"To provide a full range of financial services conveniently located near members' homes and places of employment…while offering the most advantageous rates for borrowers and savers…as we maintain the utmost safety and protection for our members' information and deposits."
Vision, need, and foresight prompted a small group of professors to start a credit union at the University of Utah in July, 1956. Dr. Roland Stucki, Chairman of the Finance Department (and founding member), has said, "No single person can take credit for organizing and developing the successful University Credit Union. It was a team effort where different individuals made substantial but different contribution to its success."
The vision of Dr. Stucki and the eleven others who signed the original charter gave birth to what has evolved into a strong, progressive, full-service financial institution.
We are proud of our roots and the continuing beneficial relationship we maintain with the employees and students of the University. In addition to four on-campus branch locations, we now have another eleven locations placed strategically throughout Salt Lake and Davis counties. Additional branch expansion can be expected as we strive to meet the needs of our ever-growing membership.

Originally established to serve the employees of the University of Utah, the Credit Union added to its membership the alumni and students of the U. Then, in 2004 we began offering our services to all those living, working, going to school, worshiping, or doing volunteer service in Salt Lake County. Membership is also extended to relatives of those who qualify.
The University Credit Union is federally chartered and members' deposits are insured up to at least $250,000 per account by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an independent federal agency that supervises and insures federal credit unions.
